we are

woodland arborist

We have the experience and the knowledge to identify possible issues concerning your trees, and determine how to mitigate the risk and maintain the tree. Our love of the forest environment guides our recommendations toward the goal of maintaining trees, rather than simply recommending to remove them.

Our Goal is:

To identify hazardous trees BEFORE they fail.

To identify non-hazardous trees that can be maintained with a risk mitigation plan.

  • Two decades in the arboriculture industry.

  • Connecticut Licensed Arborists.

  • ISA Certified Arborists.

  • ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified.

We believe our planet should remain as green as can be. Yes, sometimes a tree must come down due to extreme risk to human life. But there are many situations where trees that were removed, could have remained standing with just a little extra care. Let us help you obtain the knowledge needed to best make that determination for your trees.

About our lead arborist

Ben has been living in and working around trees his entire life. He began his carrier professionally right out of high school with the family tree company. Soon into his professional life he became a licensed Connecticut Arborist and then a Certified ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) Arborist. He has since receieved ISA training to be a qualified Tree Risk Assessor.

While working professionally he learned the skills of safely climbing trees to inspect, prune, and at times remove them. Although tree removal is sometimes necessary, his passion has always been to maintain trees. He feels that, ‘there are so many tree companies out there that see a little wound in the trunk, or some deadwood in the canopy, and tell the customer the tree needs to come down. But really, all that tree needed was a little attention, and it could have lived on for years to come.’

His knowledge, experience, insight, and passion of trees and the forest have led him to want to do what he can to protect and save as many trees as possible.

Trees are unique living organisms in that they provide so much for us and the planet both while they are living, and still after they are cut down. We at Woodland Arborist appreciate that fact. We enjoy the benefits of dead trees that help to provide housing, warmth, cooked food, tools, as well as attractive practical crafts. But since about 42 million trees are cut down EACH DAY on this planet, it is our hope to not needlessly add to that drastically large number.
